In this course, you will learn how to

  • create an efficient learning environment;
  • recognize the characteristics of an effective learning community;
  • create avenues for expression;
  • create a positive learning environment centered on students' interests and choices; 
  • describe various terms associated with student assessment, such as formal assessment, informal assessment, alternative assessment, ongoing assessment, and reassessment;
  • review the resources available at the Texas Performance Standards Project website regarding student growth and assessment;
  • recognize the relation of the Texas Performance Standards Project to program evaluation;
  • describe the principles of program evaluation; and
  • recognize Texas' goal for services of gifted students.
